At ten, I lost my mom, too young to really feel her love. Then, at twenty, my sister, who was like a mom to me, passed away. Those losses hit hard, pushing me into depression and drugs. That same year, I was supposed to finish high school. I failed my exams and got stuck in a cycle of regrets, blaming myself and asking God why.
A friend connected me with Ruthy, the author of Mind Excellency Techniques, who I call Mima ๐, even though we’ve never met. Her book and guidance changed my life.
Ruthy’s teachings showed me my pain came from negative self-talk, like “I am a failure” or “I’m cursed,” which created feelings that shaped my reality.
Her book says we are the ‘I am,’ creating our lives through our inner conversations. I started watching my thoughts, checking beliefs many weren’t even mine, just picked up from childhood or society and shifting my feelings. I cleared my mind of negativity using morning affirmations like, “I am strong,” “I’m grateful,” feeling them as if they were already true. Instead of begging in prayer, I learned to feel thankful, like I already had what I wanted.
This changed everything. Drugs and regrets are gone, and I found peace and purpose.
Now, I live to honor my mom and sister, chasing education and sharing Ruthy’s wisdom: “You create your reality with your mind”. Change your inner words, and your world changes. No matter how bad it seems, there’s a way out inside you.
